Each week, on Monday night, two NFL teams meet in primetime, with the whole country watching. This past week, the Bengals visited the Giants, in New York. New York sports are the biggest stage in sports and this game did not disappoint. The game pitted star wide receiver, AJ Green, against star wide receiver, Odell Beckham. Both of these stars are in the top 5 at their position. The Giants were coming into the game as one of the hottest teams in the NFL, while the Bengals have been struggling this season.

The one point Giants victory over the Bengals gives the New York Giants their first four game winning streak since 2013. They are still behind the Dallas Cowboys in their division, but they are also the only team this season to beat the talented Cowboys. Giants’ quarterback, Eli Manning, has been making big plays, but has also been throwing a lot of interceptions lately. He threw one in the first half against the Bengals, but the Bengals were only able to score three points off the turnover. The Bengals have such a talented team, but have not been able to put together winning football on the field this season.

Manning threw scoring passes of 10 yards a piece to rookies Jerrell Adams and Odell Beckham in the first half, and a game-winning 3-yard run to rookie Sterling Shepard on a daring call, with New York (6-3) down 20-14, early in the fourth quarter. The Giants defense has looked a lot better this season, and the off season moves they made, have really panned out so far. With a meeting looming, with the division leading Cowboys still coming up, things are looking good for the Giants. As long as they can stay healthy, they think they will be right in the mix at the end of the season. Even at the end of the game, the Giants defense was able to sack Bengals quarterback, Andy Dalton, twice with under five minutes left in the game. These sacks secured the victory for the Giants and gave them a four game winning streak, which they have not seen in years.
